Ash Dean

Ashley holds a Master’s in Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science.

With over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, Ashley has worked both in-person and remotely with children and adults to develop strength, stamina, and long-term performance. He brings a strong background in programming, coaching, and competing in CrossFit, combining practical experience to help members achieve their goals.

Mari Hoffman

Mari is a Level 1 certified CrossFit coach with over a decade of experience in the sport. A physiotherapist and researcher by trade, she brings a unique approach to coaching, helping members move efficiently, while preventing injury, and reaching their goals.

Born in Brazil, Mari has competed, trained, and coached across South America, Asia, and Europe, giving her a diverse international perspective on fitness. Passionate, approachable, and knowledgeable, she loves guiding athletes of all levels to build strength, confidence, and long-term resilience.

Mark Brown

Mark Brown II is your friendly neighborhood Black Puerto Rican queer person who wants nothing more than to teach you how to improve your back squat while blasting Honey Dijon, and other house music, in the background.

Originally from a small tiny hamlet of >200 people in the USA, he has practiced Crossfit for almost a decade (OMG how time flies) with him starting in Miami (s/o Crossfit Downtown Miami) and finding himself here at Crossfit South Yarra.

Outside of figuring out his starting position for the snatch, he is a software developer, up-and-coming pianist, and Melbourne’s premier (aka only) singin-actin-dancin-Crossfittin muscle drag queen eleganza Nefertiti LaNegra!

Kim Marx

Kim has been part of the CrossFit South Yarra community for over 10 years and is now one of our trusted a Level 1 certified coaches. She brings experience in gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, and functional training, helping members build strength and confidence.

As a mother and pre- and post-natal training specialist, Kim understands the challenges of training through different stages of parenthood and loves guiding fellow parents toward safe, sustainable fitness goals. Her approachable style and expertise make her a valued coach for all members, from beginners to advanced athletes.

Marc Roufeil

Marc grew up in country NSW, and spent much of my early athletic life playing rugby union, including a tour of England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and France. He started CrossFit during rehab for a rugby injury in 2012, and has been doing it ever since.

He has a Cert III and IV in Fitness as well as a CrossFit Level 2 Certification and has coached at a number of gyms across Australia including Crossfit Wollongong and Crossfit Shellharbour in NSW.

Jonatas Falcao – Massage Therapist/Coach

Jon is our official Remedial Massage Therapist specialised in Sports massage and injury prevention.

He is from Brazil but has been coaching in Australia for over 4 years. As a coach he is specialised in Gymnastics, with a background in martial arts (including Capoeira, Hapkido and Jiu-jitsu).
